Piangalardo

Barolo D.O.C.G.

VINEYARD: “Lontano“, Monforte d’Alba – west-southwestern exposure

GRAPES USED:  Nebbiolo

PRODUCTION METHOD:  Expert hands select the bunches before the hand harvesting. An immediate vinification and a slow fermentation for over 40 days, in thermo-controlled stainless steel vats, precedes the malolactic fermentation. The aging continues for 12 months in first and second passage barriques, and then traditionally in big oak barrels for a further period of 15 months. The long and noble aging process ends after four years from the harvesting time, when the refinement in bottle starts.

COLOR: Characteristic red garnet, refined by very light orange tinges.

BOQUET: Intense and balsamic, captivating hints of flowers and aromatic herbs, with a pleasant note of wood and autumn leaves, revealing a fragrant tobacco and licorice finish.

TASTE: Rounded, full-bodied, warm harmonious, so fascinating, with its silky and exquisitely soft tannins. This wine warms and softens the palate with his personality; blossoming into red flowers, ripe fruit, spices and licorice, leaving behind an intense, iridescent persistence.
